On September 15, 2022, at 9:30 p.m., Lucinda (Cindy) Marie Bauer, 73, of Windsor, IL was embraced by her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ upon her arrival to her eternal home. Proverbs 31 talks about attributes of a woman who fears the Lord. Cindy’s family and friends will testify that she lived her life this way. Her faithful prayer life had and will continue to have an eternal impact on her family, friends, and the world.

In a traditional obituary this is the place where you read about Cindy’s family, work, hobbies, and accomplishments. Even in her death Cindy did not want the focus on herself but on her King and Savior. Because of this she would ask you to read and consider the following.

On the day your obituary is written it won’t matter what you believed or think is the truth unless that truth is based on the truth found in God’s Word. In John 14:6 Jesus said, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” The world’s greatest problem is sin and the penalty for sin is eternal death-separation from God. Romans 3:23 says, “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” God is holy and His standard is perfection and even on your best day you will fall short of that standard. No one is good enough to earn God’s favor or salvation. Church attendance, good works, or living a moral life will not do it-you need a righteous Savior. God the Father’s love is so great and His mercy so rich that He gave His Son Jesus to be the perfect sacrifice to pay the penalty for the sins of all who will repent of their sin, believe in Him, and trust Him alone for salvation. John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”

God commands you to repent and put your faith in Jesus alone for your salvation. It is more than just believing that Jesus existed or believing facts about Jesus-it’s whole-hearted trust in Him for the forgiveness of your sins. If you are on an airplane that is going down and you have a parachute, you can believe that it will save you but it does no good until you trust it enough to put it on and jump. Cry out to God, confess and forsake your sins, and believe in Him alone for salvation. Salvation is a gift-it is not earned. God is waiting and promises forgiveness, a new heart that loves Him and loves righteousness, and with-it eternal life. Eternal life is what Cindy is expecting right now and that is what she wants for you. But even more, that is what Jesus Christ died for and wants for you. Do not hesitate or put the decision to follow Jesus off-you are not promised tomorrow.

Cindy’s children would like to add that she was an amazing mother, committed wife, loving grandmother and great-grandmother, and a friend to everyone she met. Although, she will be missed greatly we find comfort in knowing she is healed and whole now and celebrating with Jesus Christ, her Savior.

Thank you for your prayers for the family during this time. A private family service will be held to honor and celebrate Cindy-a beautiful lady and our dear mother. Lovins-Lockart Funeral Home in Windsor is assisting the family.
