Karen Lea Devall, age 74, of Olney, Illinois, and a former resident of Newton, Illinois, passed away at 9:41 PM Wednesday, August 24, 2022, at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, Illinois. 

Services celebrating Karen’s life will be held at 4:00 PM Sunday, August 28, 2022, at the Olney Christian Fellowship, 3691 North Van Road Olney, Illinois 62450. Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 4:00 PM Sunday, at the church. In loving memory of Karen, memorials may be made to Karen Devall Art Scholarship, c/o Katrina Marshall. Arrangements are under the care of the Meyer Funeral Home in Newton, Illinois.

Karen was born on February 3, 1948, in Champaign, Illinois, the daughter of Robert and Rachel (Bogard) Harrison. She married Steven Cash Devall on March 8, 1975, and he preceded her in death on March 31, 2014.

Karen graduated from Waynesville High School in Waynesville, Missouri, with the Class of 1966.

Karen worked at CVS Pharmacy in Newton for several years and also worked in the library at Olney Community College.  She also was representative for Home Interior Design for several years.

 Karen was a faithful member of the Olney Christian Fellowship.  She was a breast cancer survivor and a member of the Pink Warriors.

Karen enjoyed arts, especially painting, reading, bird watching, traveling the world, bowling, karate, kayaking, camping, Saturday morning breakfast at HV in Olney, and sitting on the patio enjoying a cup of coffee. She was ready for any new adventure just give her a minute to go grab her purse.   Most of all Karen loved to spend time with her family and to worship our Lord.

Karen is survived by:

Children - Jason (wife Christy) Devall of Nixa, Missouri; Katrina (husband Logan) Marshall of Olney, Illinois; Rachel (husband Buck) Brown of Dieterich, Illinois and Melissa Devall of Olney, Illinois

Grandchildren – Micah Marshall, Elijah Marshall, William Devall and Colin Devall

Brother – Robert (wife Ann) Harrison of Clinton, Utah

Karen was preceded in death by her parents and husband Steve.
