Sarah M. Casseday age 99 of Florida passed away peacefully August 5, 2022 with loving family by her side.

She was born May 27, 1923, daughter of William M. and Harriet N. Sadler and was one of 13 brothers and sisters. She married William L. Casseday on Feb. 28th, 1943 and shared 56 years of marriage before he preceded her in death on Nov. 22, 1999. Sarah went to cosmetology school and enjoyed doing hair for her family and friends. Her hobbies were crocheting and sewing and she made beautiful quilts and adorable clothes and blankets for the children. Her family loved getting crocheted house shoes, shawls and hats every year for Christmas and her many quilts are cherished gifts. One of her greatest gifts was her memory. She was amazing at telling stories of her and her family all the way back to her childhood. She even remembered what year they happened. Some were funny, some sad, but everyone always listened intently as they were so interesting and she told them with such flair. Her home was always open to family and friends and she would have coffee ready and food on the table. She loved to sing with her brother, husband, other family members and friends when they would get together and play country music. She had the ability to turn every occasion and holiday into something very special with her loving nature and joy for life. Sarah loved the sunshine and until the age of 97, you could find her working in her yard and tending her flowers with her beloved poodle by her side and her favorite drink, a cup of black coffee nearby. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.

She is survived by her daughter Janet Casseday Prine of Florida, her sister Sue Vugteveen of Georgia, her brothers Sam Sadler of Florida and Bennie Sadler of Tennessee, daughter-in-law, Juanita Casseday of Florida, granddaughters Dorie Folsom and Miranda Prine of Florida, great grandsons Sadler Prine and Trenton Folsom and great granddaughters Jancy and Rieah Prine and other great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband William L. Casseday, her son Michael Casseday, sisters Ida Morris and Edith Phillips. Her brothers Jim Sadler of Illinois and Bill Sadler of Maryville, TN.
