Aleta Roberta Evans Stivers (84) of Neoga

Aleta Roberta Evans Stivers passed away on Sunday, August 21, 2022 surrounded by family.

Born November 5, 1937 in Lawrenceville, IL to Robert and Cleo (Culter) Maycroft, Aleta graduated from Stewardson-Strasburg High School in 1955, attended Sparks Business College in Shelbyville, and worked at Shelby REA and 21 years at General Electric. In 1957 she married Norman K. Evans (who preceded her in death) before marrying Loyd E. Stivers in 1982 (who also preceded her in death). She was a member of the First Christian Church of Neoga, IL.

Aleta is survived by her children; Norman Gene Evans, Pam Storm (Aubrey) Peggy Frailey, and Penny Hess (Steve), daughter-in-law Mona Evans, grandchildren; Jessica Evans (Joshua Kelly), Ryan Evans (Maddie), Kristina Evans, Tommy Evans, Ray Storm (Kristi), Bryan Storm, Miles Storm (Kiah), and Chelsea Devall (Adam), sister, Beverly Kaczanowski, sister-in-law; Kristin Maycroft, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Cleo, husbands, Norman Evans and Loyd Stivers, sons, Dale K. Evans and Thomas W. Evans, grandson, Paul Frailey, great-granddaughter, Dezarea Woods, sister, Betty Rhodes, brother, Harold Maycroft, and future son-in-law, "Kevin" Brian Bills.

Memorials are suggested to the First Christian Church of Neoga or the Donor’s choice.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, August 24, 2022 in the Swengel -O’Dell Funeral Home in Neoga, IL. Visitation will be one hour before the services also at the funeral home. Online condolences may be expressed by clicking here.
