On August 19, 2022, Karl Edward Zalman went to his eternal home with Jesus Christ his Savior. He was 79 years old.
He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. Most importantly, he was a Christian who loved the Lord, his family and his church. His quick wit and goofiness will be sadly missed by his family. He was truly one of a kind!
Karl is survived by his wife of 52 years, Sue Zalman; his children: Angie (Shawn), Mike (Becki) and Kris (Adaire); grandchildren: Jacob (Hailey), Haley, Abby and Owen, Madison, Madeline and Rachel, Karlee and Abree, Mary, Anthony and Kolby, who also knew him as Grandpa.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Kathryn Zalman; sister, Loretta Painter and granddaughter, Paislee Zalman.
The funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 27, 2022, in Trinity Lutheran Church, 113 S. Walnut St., Stewardson, IL with Pastor David Weaver officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Karl will be laid to rest in Stewardson Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to a luncheon at Trinity Lutheran Church following the burial. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Trinity Lutheran School Playground Fund and may be mailed to Brummerstedt Funeral Home, 302 W. Main St., Shelbyville, IL 62565.
