Sandra C. Hoover, 87, of Effingham, IL, passed away on Tuesday, August 16, 2022, at Lakeland Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Effingham.
A celebration of life will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, August 26, 2022, at the Effingham Event Center in Effingham. Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham is assisting the family.

Sandra was born on December 14, 1934, in Union Township, Effingham County, IL, the daughter of Ronald C. and Marguerite (Woody) Carter. She married John K. Hoover on June 26, 1955, in Santa Rosa, CA, and he preceded her in death on February 23, 2011.They were happily married for 56 years.
Sandra loved to read and travel. She also found joy playing cards, especially bridge. Sandra enjoyed playing volleyball when she was younger.
Sandra is survived by her children, Jan K. Hoover and David J. (Jariya) Hoover; grandchildren, Sarah (Kris) Aiona; great-grandchildren, Layla, Jackson, Camille, Carson, Collette, and Camden; sister, Patricia Keel; sister-in-law, Sandy Carter, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Michael Carter; and grandson, Andrew Hoover.
