Charles Wayne “Charlie” Pirozzoli, 75, of Effingham, IL, passed away on Friday, August 12, 2022 at HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital in Effingham.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham. His ashes will be laid to rest at a later date in Hanson Cemetery in Hanson, KY. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Charlie was born on October 23, 1946, in Madisonville, KY, the son of Charles O. and Morlan (Corum) Pirozzoli. He was raised there in Madisonville and later graduated from the University of Kentucky in 1969. He married Judy Franklin on January 27, 1976 in Hopkinsville, KY.
Charlie worked as a salesman for animal health products and feed. He later worked with the USDA as an agricultural inspector. Charlie was very active in the men’s slow pitch softball league and coached girls basketball at the Effingham Park District. He was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church in Effingham. Charlie loved camping and his poodles as well as collecting trains. He also loved the Kentucky Wild Cats and was awarded the distinction of Honorary Kentucky Colonel.
Charlie is survived by his wife, Judy Pirozzoli of Effingham; children, Kristi Miller (Shane Rorer) of Kinmundy; Karri Rowland of White Plains, KY, and Lisa (Bryan) Wilson of Effingham; grandchildren, Kobie (Jessica) Simmons, Kristian Rowland, Brandon Rowland (fiancée, Brooke Adams), Sean (Olivia) O’Leary, Mackenzie Ikemire, Alex Rowland, and Bryce Ikemire; 4 great-grandchildren; brother, Mark Pirozzoli of Topeka, KS; sister, Elizabeth “Beth” Conrad of Providence, KY; and step-brother, Neal Ferrell of Madisonville, KY.
He was preceded in death by his father and step-mother, Charles and Mary Jewell Pirozzoli; mother, Morlan, and step-brother, Sam Ferrell.
