Linda Marie Bissey-Thomas, 76, of Louisville, Illinois, passed from this life on Saturday, July 30, 2022, with her daughters, Sondra and Angela by her side at HSHS St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.

She entered this life on December 15, 1945, to the late Clifford Thomas and Lucille Harris of Clay City. Linda was a homemaker and an avid crafter. She loved all things craft. She devoted herself to sewing and crocheting blankets and keepsakes for her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and close family and friends. She was able to maintain an incredible level of precision and efficiency with her craft despite her diagnosis of a rare form of rheumatoid arthritis and she always remained positive. She did not let her condition affect her passion for creating and crafting or take away from the beauty that she saw in the world around her. Linda will be remembered for the depth of her faith, the enormity of her talents, the breadth of her love for family and friends, and, most of all, the size of her heart. She lives on in the hearts of all family and friends who knew and loved her — and in the wonderful memories of her.

She is survived by her daughters, Sondra Goodwin (Jason) and Angela Stanfield (Tim); her five grandchildren, Ashly Murray, Shayla (Jason) Ruelas, Kortney (Tyler) Jacobs, Cheyenne Goodwin (Corey), and Mikayla (Garrett) Rubsam; her step-grandchildren, Kristi Goff, Jessica Sidener (Daniel); Dakota Goff (Keandra); Christian Goff (Cassidy); and her 23 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her father, Clifford Thomas; and her mother and stepfather, Lucille and Knight Harris.

A funeral ceremony will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, August 4, 2022, at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora. Visitation will be from 4 until 6 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Private interment will take place in Clay City Cemetery. Memorial donations are suggested to any charity of the donor’s choice, and these will be accepted through the funeral home.
