Nina Elizabeth Warner, 68, of Stewardson, IL, passed away at 6:00 p.m. Friday, July 22, 2022 in Heritage Health in Pana, IL.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 30, 2022 in Trinity Lutheran Church in Stewardson, IL with Rev. David Weaver officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00-11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 30, 2022 in the church. Burial will be at a later date in a family cemetery in Esperance, New York. Arrangements are by Howe and Yockey Funeral Home. Memorials may be given to Faith Bible Christian Academy, Rosamond, IL or Trinity Lutheran School, Stewardson, IL.

Nina was born on April 29, 1954 in Milwaukee, WI, the daughter of George Worden and Dale (Grandstrand) Happe. She graduated from Peoria Richwoods High School and earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees from Eastern Illinois University. Nina was a beloved teacher for Effingham Community Unit School District #40 for over 30 years, where she taught Home Economics in the high school and 4th and 5th grade in the grade school. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Stewardson, where she sang in the church choir. Nina enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and taking trips to visit her family.

She is survived by her sons, Christopher Allen Warner and wife Lisa of Kirkland, WA and Michael Andrew Warner and wife Megan of Taylorville, IL; daughter, Lisa Castille and husband Kenneth of Seabrook, TX; brother, Gregg Happe and wife Lynda of Carolina Beach, NC; and four grandchildren, Alex Castille, Anderson Castille, Monroe Warner, and Maddux Warner.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Dale Happe.
