Loretta Louise Meinhart, age 92, of rural Montrose, Illinois, passed away at 7:36 PM Sunday, July 24, 2022, at HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital in Effingham, Illinois.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 PM (Noon) on Friday, July 29, 2022, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Island Grove, Illinois with Fr. Frank Folino celebrating mass. Burial will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery in Island Grove, Illinois. Visitation will be held from 9:30-11:30 AM Friday, July 29, 2022, at the church. In loving memory of Loretta, memorials may be made to St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of the Meyer Funeral Home in Dieterich, Illinois.

Loretta was born on April 6, 1930, north of Woodbury, Illinois, the daughter of Joe and Anna (Lustig) Flood. She married Donald Joseph Meinhart on February 4, 1950, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Montrose, Illinois. He preceded her in death on August 21, 2018. Loretta was a farmer’s wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of St. Isidore the Farmer Parish. Loretta enjoyed quilting, bowling, gardening, raising flowers and was an avid card player. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family especially her children, grandchildren and most recently her great grandchildren. For many years she and Don volunteered and delivered meals-on-wheels.

Loretta is survived by: Children – Bill (Karen) Meinhart of Newton, Illinois; Wayne (Patti) Meinhart of Mattoon, Illinois; Lenny Meinhart of Newton, Illinois; Lloyd (Melissa) Meinhart of Shorewood, Illinois; Steve (Sharon) Meinhart of Lafayette, Indiana; Marilyn (Russ) Allison of Mattoon, Illinois and Keith (Denise) Meinhart of Montrose, Illinois; Grandchildren – Ryan (Nualanong “Honey”) Meinhart, Derek (Lisa) Meinhart, Nathan (Jenn) Meinhart, Michelle Meinhart, Ross (Jennifer) Meinhart, Kelly (Pete) Fandel, Brett (Jen) Meinhart, Conner (Rachel) Meinhart, Matthew Meinhart, Craig (Lindsay) Meinhart, Adam (Stephanie) Meinhart, Steffi (Mitchell) Rencheck, Ashley (Jordan) Thompson and Tyler Meinhart; 21 Great Grandchildren; Brother – Leonard (Joan) Flood of Toledo, Illinois; Sisters-in-law – Margaret Flood of Toledo, Illinois and Betty Kennedy of Tuscola, Illinois.

Loretta was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers Harold, Leo, Bob, Bernard and Kenny Flood and sisters Irene Juris and Anna Marie Klein.
