Patsy “Pat” Lu Robertson, age 79, of Mason, Illinois passed away at 7:36 p.m. Thursday, July 14, 2022 at St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham.

Funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 24, 2022 at Altamont Christian Church with a one-hour visitation prior to the service. Harlan Johnson, Travis Penn, John Hollis, and Mark White will be officiating. Burial will be at Mason Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday, July 23, 2022 at Altamont Christian Church. Pat was born on December 26, 1942 in Effingham, Illinois, the daughter of Louis and Hollis (Clark) Hays. She married Michael Robertson on December 29, 1963. She was a member of the Calvary Free Will Baptist Church in Salem. Pat was a lifelong teacher. When her children were young, she led Good News Clubs. She was an avid reader. She spent much of her time watching her grandchildren run around the family farm that has seen six generations. She taught her family embroidery, how to tend to roses and a garden, the art of baking, to love a good story, and how to be a good storyteller. Pat was known for her cooking, a gift she passed on to her children and grandchildren. She was an outstanding drama and sword drill coach, sending several of her students to compete on a national level. Pat was also a Sunday School teacher and was very active in her church.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Mike Robertson (Michael Eugene Sr.) of Mason; sons, Gene Robertson (Michael Eugene II) of Nashville, Tennessee and Anthony Robertson (wife Rebekah) of Mason; daughters, Corinna Williams (husband Thomas) of Valparaiso, Florida and Vennia Petty (husband James) of Beecher City; 3 sisters, Alice Bushue (husband Stan) of Mason, Linda Fritz of Bloomington, and Elaine Rundall of Eau Claire, Wisconsin; 9 grandchildren, Bruce Petty (wife Jennifer), Holly Pruemer (husband Jacob), Maria Petty, Emily Petty, Trey Robertson (Michael Eugene III), William Robertson, Samuel Robertson, Hollis Williams, and Norah Robertson; 6 great-grandchildren, Ashland, Savanah, Quincy, Waylon, Maylee, and Wylie; and so many others who called her mom and Gramzee.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Hollis Hays; 2 brothers, Harold Hays and Roderick Hays and cherished twin sons.
