Pixie Beth Mahaney, age 66, of Newton, Illinois, passed away at 11:08 AM Thursday, May 19, 2022, at HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital in Effingham, Illinois.
A celebration of life for Pixie Mahaney will be held Saturday, July 23, at the KC Hall in Newton. It will begin at 5:00PM with entertainment beginning around 6PM. Entertainment will be provided by our good friends “Quarter Annie” & “Sunset Scene”. This event will be open for anybody who wants to come celebrate the life of the woman who was always the life of the party. Casual attire is welcomed. Pixie was born on January 4, 1956 in Mattoon, Illinois, the daughter of Dean and Carol (Foltz) Slack. She was raised in Bogota, Illinois, and graduated from Newton Community High School class of 1974. Pixie loved cooking in the kitchen of her own restaurant, Yesterday’s Pub and Dining. She had a green thumb when it came to any kind of plant or flower. She admired all animals, especially cats and dogs, and always showed compassion to any animal in need. Pixie was always willing to lend a listening ear to anyone who needed it. She enjoyed attending concerts, and would look for any reason to listen to The Rolling Stones and dance.
Pixie is survived by: Husband- E. Dale Mahaney Children- Farrah (Chad) Campbell and Clayton Mahaney (Cyndel Dhom) Grandson- Hoyt Campbell Father- Dean Slack Sisters- Jody (Nick) Milliman and Bonny (Steven) Boyd Several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Pixie was preceded in death by her mother, Carol Slack.
