Leasa Faye Johnson age 56, of Newton passed away Friday, July 15, 2022 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana, Illinois.

Funeral services honoring and celebrating Leasa’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 19, 2022 at the Crain Funeral Home, Newton with Pastor Chris Parr officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Monday, July 18 th in the funeral home. Burial will be in the Mound Cemetery, Willow Hill.

Leasa was born on June 2, 1966 in Effingham, Illinois the daughter of Roger D. and Linda K. (Slane) Miller. On April 2, 1994, Leasa married Kendall Johnson. He survives. Leasa was a devoted wife and mother. Their daughter Emilee was her pride and joy.

Leasa worked at the Springfield Clinic in Effingham, serving as medical assistant for Dr. Jensen and Dr. Kowalski. In her free time, Leasa loved spending time outdoors and caring for her flowers. She enjoyed cooking and baking. Her pasta salad, chicken and noodles and deviled eggs were just of few of her family’s favorites. She loved spending time with her sisters, family and friends.

Leasa will be loved and remembered by her husband Kendall Johnson of Newton; daughter Emilee Chesnut, husband Caleb of Evansville, IN; sisters Laura Birch, husband John of Newton, Amanda Webster of Newton and Jamie Miller of Oblong; nieces and nephews Tiffany Will, husband Curtis, Garrett Birch, wife Meredith, Conner Webster, Caylie Webster, Landon Webster, Peighton Arnone, Xander Ochs, and Zoey Ochs; great-nieces and great-nephews Reagan Birch, John Birch, Weston Will and Hattie Will; extended family and many friends.

Her parents Roger and Linda Miller and brother Robert Miller preceded her in death.

Memorial gifts in honor of Leasa may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children.
