Clifford W. “Joe” Parks (61) of Effingham

Clifford W. “Joe” Parks, 61 of Effingham, passed away at 5:15 AM Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center in Mattoon.

There will be a visitation from 1 PM until 2 PM Sunday, May 19, 2013 at Pagel Funeral Home, Edgewood, with a graveside service to follow at Mason Cemetery, Mason. Memorials are requested to the Salvation Army. Clifford was born on September 25, 1951, the son of Richard L. and Doris Jean (Plank) Parks.

He had worked at Peerless of America, Effingham, the American United Cab Co., Chicago, and the Salvation Army, Waukegan. Joe was a movie buff and enjoyed playing Trivial Pursuit, and he especially loved spending time with his family.

Surviving are his son William “Bill” J. Parks of Chicago; brothers Donald (Linda) Parks of Chicago and John (Angela) Parks of Effingham;and sisters Sally (Tony) van der Graaff of Charleston and Mary Cox of Mattoon. Clifford was “Uncle Joe” to nieces Jeannie Carey, Elisabeth van der Graaff, Audrey Cox, and Lauren Cox; nephews Rich Parks, David van der Graaff, Matt van der Graaff, and Tim van der Graaff; great-nieces Melissa Oscarson and Grace Carey; and great-nephews Kyle Peterson and Nolan Carey.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, William R. Park
