Gearldine "Gerri" Helen Molina (77) of Kinmundy

Gearldine “Gerri” Helen Molina, 77, of Kinmundy passed away at 2:10 pm Monday, June 27, 2022 at the Baptist Health Floyd in New Albany, Indiana.
Gerri was born on August 7, 1944, in Salem, Illinois, the daughter of Harry and Pauline (Williams) Doudera. Gerri worked several different jobs over the years, some including having been the Chief of Police for the City of Kinmundy from 1976 to 2002. She helped kids with tutoring after school, and she loved her community dearly. She was the EMT coordinator for the Kinmundy/Alma Fire Protection District, and their bookkeeper for several years. Also served as an EMT instructor for Frontier Junior College. She was a member of the Kinmundy First United Methodist Church, and the president of the Methodist Church Twilight Circle. Assisted in the starting of the Christmas for Kids in Kinmundy and loved to be around her family and friends and to socialize in her community.
Gerri is survived by her daughter, Jill Shirley of Kinmundy; 1 grandson, Justin (Noelle) Shirley of Nashville, Illinois; 2 sisters, Joyce Holley of Salem, Patsy (Steve) Kolner of Kenosha, Wisconsin; 3 nieces and nephews, James (Carol) Holley Jr. of O’Fallon, Illinois, Debora (Mike) Lyons of Indianapolis, Indiana, Joseph (Amanda) Holley of Williamsburg, Illinois; the father of her children, Israel Molina.
Gerri was preceded in death by her parents; 1 son, Michael Molina; brother-in-law, Jim Holley; nephew Milo “Shannon” Holly.
Funeral services honoring Gerri’s life will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, July 2, 2022 at the Kinmundy First United Methodist Church, with Pastor David Kueker officiating. Burial will follow at the Martin Cemetery, rural Alma. Visitation will be held on Friday evening at the McGriff Funeral Home in Kinmundy where friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 pm, and then on Saturday at the church from 9:00 to 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Gerri’s memory to the Kinmundy/Alma EMT’s, Kinmundy/Alma Christmas for Kids, or the First United Methodist Church Twilight Circle.
