Lyda was born on August 31, 1932, in Johnson County, Franklin, IN, the daughter of Lawrence and Twanatte (Doty) Brown. She married James Greenwood on December 24, 1952, and he preceded her in death on June 4, 1996. Lyda loved her family. Her door and heart were always open to her children, grandchildren, and greatgrandchildren. Sunday evenings were usually spent at mom’s house with all of us kids and our kids enjoying pizza and just visiting. When she was not spending time with family she enjoyed playing bingo and watching game shows on TV. Lyda was the manager for Green Acres Trailer Court for many years. Then in 1989 she began working for Unit 40 School District as a custodian. She loved being around the children at the school and many of the students referred to her as Grandma. She retired from Unit 40 in 2008 at the age of 76.

Lyda is survived by her children, Brenda (John) Wilson of Toledo, Scott (Karla) Greenwood of Effingham, and Eric Greenwood (Adara Jenne) of Stewardson; grandchildren, Jennifer Wilson, Rebecca Wilson (fiancé, David Mossaband), Shae (Lucas) Calcari, Cory Carlson-Greenwood, Michael Greenwood, Jessica (Brandon) Wesselman, Tylar (Trevor) Hill, Leah Greenwood, Jeremy Greenwood, Max Greenwood, Noah Schneiderman, and Finn Greenwood; 9 great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Peggy Pierard.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James; son, Michael “Mike”; grandson, Jason Ian Jennings; and siblings, Barbara Phillips and Tom Brown.
