William Wayne "Bill" Voyles (77) of Assumption

William “Bill” Wayne Voyles, 77, of Assumption, IL, passed away at 2:31 p.m. on Saturday, May 21, 2022, in HSHS St. Mary’s Hospital in Decatur, IL with loved ones by his side.

Bill was born on June 11, 1944, in Todd’s Point Township, the son of Roy and Nancy (Tippit) Voyles. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Bill and Karen Hudson were married on December 16, 1990 and were blessed with 31 years of marriage. Bill was a truck driver for many years retiring in the early 2000’s. He enjoyed baling hay, tending to his farm animals, especially hogs and tinkering. But to Bill and his loved ones, his biggest role was that of a family man, husband, father, brother and much adored grandfather and great-grandfather.

Surviving are his loving wife, Karen Voyles of Assumption; three daughters: JoAnna (Greg) Davis of Kapaa, HI, Emily Clark of Sullivan and Kelli (James) Davis of Rosalia, KS; six grandchildren: Victoria “Tori”, Sarah, Hank, Haley, Jordan and Shane; five great-grandchildren; three brothers: Dean (Phyllis) Voyles of Shelbyville, Marvin Voyles of Gays and Joe (Brenda) Voyles of Shelbyville; one sister, Karen Sue Voyles and special friend, Willy Johnson of Findlay and aunt, uncle and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one niece.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 25, 2022, in Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Shelbyville with Pastor Dennis Hudson officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service. Burial will take place in Wright Cemetery, near Findlay, with military rites performed by the Clarence Bixler Post 409 of Findlay.
