Jarrett Sylvester Zumbahlen, age 24, of rural Newton, Illinois, passed away at 7:50 PM Wednesday, May 11, 2022, in rural Newton, Illinois.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Tuesday, May 17, 2022, at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Newton, Illinois, with Fr. Dean Probst celebrating mass. Burial will be in the Chapel Cemetery near Falmouth, Illinois. Visitation will be held at the church, 4:00-7:00 PM Monday, May 16, 2022, and again Tuesday, 9:30-10:30 AM. In loving memory of Jarrett, memorials may be made to the St. Thomas School. Arrangements are under the care of Meyer Funeral Home in Newton, Illinois. Jarrett was born on December 30, 1997, in Effingham, Illinois, the son of Craig and Sandra (Smith) Zumbahlen. He graduated from Newton Community High School with the Class of 2016. Jarrett was Carpenter’s Apprentice with the Carpenters Union #243. He was currently working at Marathon in Robinson and farmed with Dad and Uncle. Jarrett was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Newton. He enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Jarrett is survived by: Parents – Craig and Sandy Zumbahlen of Newton, Illinois Sister – Claire Zumbahlen of Newton, Illinois Grandmother– Sandra Zumbahlen of Newton, Illinois Uncles and Aunts – Kelly (Sara) Zumbahlen of Wheeler, Illinois; Gina (Greg) Grunloh of Aurora, Illinois; Janet (Wayne) Green- Holloway of Robinson, Illinois; Ray Smith (Donna Strand) of Newton, Illinois and Jill (Paul) Abbott of Olathe, Kansas Special Friend – Faith Jullian, and Several great aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family also survive.
Jarrett was preceded in death by his grandparents – Sylvester Zumbahlen, Frank Smith and Neta Smith.
