Wanda Mae Ping, age 98, of Oblong, Illinois, passed away at 1:45 PM Friday, April 29, 2022, at Ridgeview Health and Rehab Center in Oblong, Illinois.

Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Wednesday May 4, 2022, at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in St. Marie, Illinois, with Fr. Dean Probst celebrating mass. Burial will be in the St. Mary’s Cemetery, in Ste. Marie, Illinois. Visitation will be held 5:00-8:00 PM Tuesday, May 3, 2022, at the church and again 9:30-10:30 AM, before the mass. In loving memory of Wanda, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or to the Jasper County Cancer Fund.  Arrangements are under the care of the Meyer Funeral Home in Newton, Illinois. Wanda was born on February 10, 1924, in Oblong, Illinois the daughter of Ray and Loretta (Michels) Eubank. She was a 1941 graduate of Willow Hill High School. Wanda married Perry R. Ping on October 8, 1941 at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, in Ste. Marie, Illinois, and he preceded her in death on May 24, 2008. Wanda was formerly a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Ste. Marie and a current member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Oblong, Illinois. Wanda enjoyed the outdoors, she loved to garden and walking around the towns where she lived.

Wanda is survived by 8 children – Sharon Fitzmaurice of Willow Hill, Illinois; James (Nancy) Ping of Oblong, Illinois; Joseph (Betty) Ping of Huntington Beach, California; Jerry (Sarah) Ping of Oblong, Illinois; Pamela (Roger) Jordan of Oblong, Illinois; Judith Hanson of Franklin, Tennessee; John (Renate) Ping of Tolono, Illinois and Jack Ping (Karen Stewart) of Newton, Illinois; 32 Grandchildren; 44 Great-grandchildren; 15 Great great-grandchildren; Daughter-in-law - Jeanette Ping of Tolono, Illinois; Sister-in-law – Vera Eubank of Newton, Illinois; Brother-in-law – Larry (Barbara) Ping of Stringtown, Illinois.

Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Jeff Ping, grandson Jamie Ping, and great-granddaughter Alexis Rector, brothers Nolan Eubank and Ronald Eubank and son-in-law Donnal Fitzmaurice.
