Gerry was born on July 1, 1946 in Bay City, Michigan, the second son of Clarence and Eloise (Manyen) Moore.  He married Judy K. (Borton) Jaskiewicz in July 1969 at St. James Catholic Church in Bay City, Michigan.

Gerry graduated from Michigan State University with a bachelor's degree in Chemistry in 1969, and also received Master’s degrees from the University of Massachusetts and Central Michigan University.  He was a chemist who spent most of his career working in automotive applications for the Ford Motor Company. He finished his distinguished career as the Director of Automotive Applications at Sherwin Williams. In his retirement, he worked as a part time chemistry professor at Lake Land College in Mattoon, Illinois as well as spending his full time traveling with his wife, Judy, across the country and supporting his family in all of their activities.

Gerry loved Christmas and all it had to offer.  He would decorate the family home with his expansive Santa collection, multiple trees, always listened to Christmas music and just loved to share the spirit of the magical season with everyone he could.  He was an avid lover of the outdoors and when he could, loved to spend time with his brothers at the family cabin in Michigan. He was also a huge fan of the Michigan State Spartans, his alma mater, as well as a big supporter of the fine arts in which his grandchildren now all carry with them.

Gerry is survived by his wife of 52 years, Judy of Bay City, Michigan; children, Cathy (Phil) Zaccari of Effingham, IL and John (Gwynn) Moore of Russell, PA; grandchildren, Abigail Zaccari, Anthony Zaccari, and Anna Zaccari; siblings; Judy Roznowski, Clarence (Gloria) Moore, Michael (Lori) Moore and Mary Revette, sister-in-law; Arlene (Max) Leitermann and  many nieces, nephews and many dear family friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Joseph Moore.

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking to please consider donating to the two following causes which have personal meaning to Gerry and his family:  The Elizabeth Weidner Memorial Scholarship Fund or to Brave Like Gabe Foundation.

Finally, the family would like to give a huge thank you to the Hospice Care of Warren, PA caregivers who went above and beyond the last few weeks.
