Linda Kay Worton, age 78, of Wheeler, Illinois, passed away at 5:04 PM Saturday, April 2, 2022, at HSHS St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, Illinois.

Funeral services celebrating Linda’s life will be held at 3:00 PM Friday, April 8, 2022, at the Meyer Funeral Home in Dieterich, Illinois, with Dallas Bear officiating. Burial will be in the Wheeler Cemetery in Wheeler, Illinois. Visitation will be held 1 hour before the service. In loving memory of Linda, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital. Linda was born on April 28, 1943, in Effingham, Illinois, the daughter of Mike and Josie (Shelton) Pocrnich. She married Owen “Jack” Worton, Jr on September 9, 1961, in Effingham, Illinois. Linda was a homemaker, who was known for her apple pie and dumplings. She was a member of Latona Church of Christ. Linda enjoyed playing cards and Bingo, and was an avid country music fan especially George Jones and Dolly Parton.

Linda is survived by: Husband of 60 years – Owen “Jack” Worton, Jr of Wheeler, Illinois; Children – Marlon (Beverly Worton of Springdale, Arkansas; Kathy Worton Mahaney of Effingham, Illinois; Scherrie Worton of Wheeler, Illinois; Linda (Dale) Drake of Newton, Illinois and Owen (Tonya) Worton III of Mason, Illinois; Grandchildren – Kendra (Damon) Scott, Bethany Green, Summer (Jason) Culpepper, Autumn Worton, Sheena (Steve) Davis, Natasha (Jeremiah) McDaniel, Shiloh Drake and Owen Worton IV; 7 Great Grandchildren.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Walter, Claude, Nolan, Mike, Mark, Roger and Roy Pocrnich, sisters Pearl Pocrnich, Ruth Knierim, Millie Pocrnich, Mary Blankenship and her twin Wanda Clough and 2 infant siblings.
