Adela H. Goers (94) of Altamont

Adela H. Goers, 94, of Altamont, died at 11:29 a.m. on Friday, April 1, 2022, at Lutheran Care Center, Altamont.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 4, 2022 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Altamont with Rev. Dr. James F. Wright officiating. Burial will follow at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9-11 before service time at the church. Memorials may be made to Meals On Wheels, Altamont location or the Immanuel Lutheran Church. Gieseking Funeral Home, Altamont is assisting the family with arrangements.

Adela was born on Saturday, September 3, 1927 to Henry F. and Malwine (Goers) Milleville in Moccasin Township, Effingham County, rural Altamont. She married Gerald Goers on February 27, 1949 at St. Paul Lutheran Church (ELCA) and he preceded her in death on July 2, 2004. She and Gerald joined Immanuel Lutheran Church in February, 1985 where she was active in Ladies’ Aid and also a Bible class leader for many years. She was a homemaker and loved to make quilts for her family and for Lutheran World Relief. She was also employed by Altamont Unit #10 School District for 20 years as a bus driver.

She is survived by; son, Dwight Goers; grandchildren, Tiffany Goers, Stephanie Golden and Jarrett Goers; great-grandchildren, Trey Miller, Robert and Cameron Myers, Jayden, Kayson, Lily and Madilyn Goers, Sarenity Myers, Dravyn, Ashlynn and Madison Golden and Jonathan Hawn; niece, Delores Langley; nephews, Jim Goers and Raymond Milleville; and several other nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents; she was preceded in death by; grandson, Denten Goers (twin to Jarrett); brothers, Elwin, Frank, Robert, Arnold, Herbert, Wilmer ‘Jack’, Gerhard and William.
