Darrel L. Finley (91) of Effingham

Darrel L. Finley, 91, of Effingham, formerly of St. Elmo, died at 7:35 p.m. Thursday, March 31, 2022 at his home.
According to his wishes, he will be cremated and there will be no services. Gieseking Funeral Home, Altamont, is assisting the family with arrangements. Correspondences would be greatly appreciated and welcomed at Lois Finley, 2301 Veterans Drive, Apt. 213, Effingham, IL 62401.
Darrel was born on Sunday, September 21, 1930 to Lester and Anna (Radcliff) Finley in Ramsey, IL. He married Lois Gelsinger on November 14, 1954. He worked for Richardson Brothers Greenhouse and Grady Marchman in St. Elmo, retired from Fedders USA, and was also a farmer.
In addition to his wife of over 67 years; he is survived by; son, Richard (Patricia) Finley, Brownstown; daughter, Lana (James) Hovis, Altamont; 3 grandchildren, Scott Finley, Matthew (Elyse) Hovis and Justin (Alexia) Hovis, 3 step-grandchildren, Kelly, Kim and Brett and 3 great-grandchildren, Oliver, Blake and Bo Hovis.
He was preceded in death by; his parents; 2 sons in infancy; 2 brothers, Lloyd Finley and Dennis Finley; halfbrother, Laverne Oglesby; and sister, Verla Crum.
