Steven Gene "Steve" Voyles of Fancher

Steven Gene “Steve” Voyles, 58, of Fancher, Illinois, passed away at 4:26 p.m. Monday, March 21, 2022 in Heartville.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 27 at Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, with Rev. Mark Sanders officiating. Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. Sunday, in the funeral home. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville. Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society or to the family in care of Howe & Yockey Funeral Home, 415 N. Broadway, Shelbyville, IL 62565. 

Steve was born January 21, 1964, in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, the son of Jerry Wayne and Mary Ann (Clendenen) Voyles. He graduated from Shelbyville High School in the Class of 1982. Steve worked as a cook at the Rosebud and Mulligans, both in Pana. Steve loved cats, fishing, boating on the river and cooking.

Steve is survived by his brother, Ricky J. Voyles of Shelbyville; sisters, Janice K. Manes (Steven) of Mt. Pulaski and Sherri E. Criner of Effingham; half-sister, Shirley D. Miller of Fancher; nine nieces and nephews, Nicole, Carol, Madison, John, Kris, Devin, Dylan, Dalton and Braiden and several great-nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Voyles; mother and step-father, Mary and Frank Hopkins; sister, Carol Voyles; and brother-in-law, John Criner.
