Phyllis B. Toole (72) of Shelbyville

Phyllis Belenda Toole, 72, of Shelbyville, IL passed away at 11:34 p.m. on Wednesday, February 23, 2022, in Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL.
Phyllis was born on September 14, 1949, in Charleston, WV, the daughter of Ervin Elmer and Phyllis Roberta (Blount) Wentz. She served in the United States Army and was a Vietnam War veteran receiving the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal and the Vietnam Campaign Medal. Phyllis worked as a paralegal and medical transcriptionist for T. Craig Eschrich at the University of South Florida and Shands for 45 years. She married Vernon Toole on April 15, 1996 and they celebrated 23 years of marriage before his passing on March 16, 2020.
She is survived by her daughter, Erika Blackmon of Georgia, son, David Wren of North Carolina and sister, Renee Kincaid.
Honoring Phyllis’s wishes, no services will be held. Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Shelbyville is assisting the family wtih arrangements.
