Wanda Irene Riley, 95, of Herrick, IL, passed away at 10:40 p.m. Thursday, February 17, 2022 in HSHS Good Shepherd Hospital, Shelbyville, IL.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 23, 2022 in Christ Tabernacle Church in Herrick, IL, with Bishop Thomas Suey officiating. Visitation will be from 10:30- 11:00 a.m. Wednesday in the church. Burial will be in Hubbartt Cemetery near Beecher City, IL. Memorials may be given to MidAmerica Preparatory School (M.A.P.S.). Arrangements are by Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL.

Wanda was born on January 24, 1927 near Findlay, IL, the daughter of Raymond and Emma (Lee) Lewis. She graduated from Shelbyville High School in the Class of 1945. Following high school, Wanda went on to study calligraphy. Wanda worked at Continental Bondware in Shelbyville for 20 years. She later worked at Home Health Care System until she retired at the age of 88. Wanda was a member of Christ Tabernacle Church in Herrick. She enjoyed quilting, traveling, sewing, singing, writing, reading, and outdoor events of all kinds. She loved her church and her church family. Wanda never met a stranger and was a faithful woman of God. She lived life passionately, was loved completely, and will be missed greatly until we all meet again.

She is survived by her son, Merlin Eugene Riley, Jr. of Cowden, IL; daughters, Lola Marie Walker (Larry) of Las Vegas, NV and Trisha Irene West of Trenton, GA; step-daughter, Alta Leona Clutter (Jerry-Leon) of Cowden, IL; 10 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; and 25 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Raymond Marshall Lewis, Jr.; four sisters, Emogene Ruth Gabbard, Betty Lewis Oehlsen, Virginia Merle Helton, and Mary Alice Lindemuth; grandson, Michael Shannon Riley; and granddaughter, Judy Kay Clutter.
