Robert “Bob” Ulysses Hagen, 83, of Louisville passed away peacefully at 11:35 p.m. Saturday, February 12, 2022 at his home.

Bob was born on October 10, 1938, in Louisville, Illinois, the son of Kermit and Veneta P. (Smith) Hagen. He married Janice Dannells on December 6, 1964, at the First Christian Church in Flora, Illinois and they shared 57 years of marriage. Bob was the owner of Hagen’s Body Shop in Louisville for 40+ years. He loved watching the St. Louis Cardinals. Bob was a member of the Flora First Christian Church, Louisville Rotary, former Louisville Volunteer Fireman, Louisville Citizen of the Year in 2014, and attended the Red Brush Christian Church in Louisville.

Bob is survived by his wife, Janice Hagen of Louisville; 2 daughters, Karla (Ron) Reed, of Effingham, and Holly (Curtis) Leib, of Flora; 4 grandchildren, Abby Reed, Edwardsville, Jerrica Leib, Edwardsville, Jaelyn (Jefery) Gocey, Flora, Jaren Leib, Flora. He is also survived by his siblings Adeline (Larren) Kincaid, Effingham, Joyce Deimel, Lebanon, TN, Kathryn (Bill) Brown, Springfield, Larry (Kathy) Hagen, Louisville, Roger (Dena) Hagen, Louisville, Darrell (Bobbi) Hagen, Louisville; one sister -in-law Doris Hagen of Bethany, IL; and several nieces and nephews.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother Wayne Hagen, and his sister Barbara (Glen) Brainard, brother-in-law Herman Deimel

Funeral services honoring the life of Bob will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, February 17, 2022 at the McGriff & Triplett Funeral Home in Louisville with Brother Loren Holloway officiating. Burial will follow at the Orchard Hill Cemetery, Louisville. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at the funeral home where friends may call from 5 to 7p.m. Memorials may be made in Bob’s memory to the North Clay Fire Protection District or the Louisville Rotary, and will be accepted through the funeral home.
