Bernard A. Vogt, 89, of Effingham, IL, passed away Sunday, February 13, 2022 at Lakeland Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Effingham.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 17, 2022 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Effingham, IL. Burial will be in St. Anthony Cemetery in Effingham. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Thursday prior to the service at the church. Services are in the care of Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham.

Bernard was born on December 5, 1932, in Effingham, IL, the son of Clemens and Josephine (Feldhake) Vogt. He married Barbara Daniels on October 7, 2006 in Effingham, and she preceded hm in death on May 8, 2016.
Bernard retired from farming. He had a great love for his family, especially his grandkids. He loved talking to his neighbor about gardening, spending time with his friends in the nursing home, walking his little “Buddy” dog, and sitting in his swing on nice days.
Bernard is survived by his daughter, Beverly (Daren) Holste and his beloved grandchildren, Allyson Holste and John Holste, all of Dieterich; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Barbara; and sisters and brothers, Sister Mary Ann Vogt, Stella Westendorf, Anna Ruholl, Clarence Vogt, Catherine Westendorf, Clemens Vogt, and Paul Vogt.
