Peggy J. Cutright (86) of Joliet

Peggy J. Cutright, 86, of Joliet, IL, passed away on Sunday, February 13, 2022 at Lakeland Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Effingham.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, February 18, 2022 at Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham. Burial will be in Cutright Cemetery in rural Greenup, IL. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Peggy was born on August 16, 1935, in Heartville, IL, the daughter of Lovell and Neva (McCallen) Horath. She married Ronald C. Cutright on April 4, 1953 and he preceded her in death on June 20, 2005.

Peggy had a great love for her family. She loved traveling, camping, and spending time with her grandkids and taking them places. She loved organizing and attending family outings, especially the Horath family reunion and the annual camping trip at Lake Shelbyville. She enjoyed attending the “Fat” Club and aerobics at the YMCA. She was an amazing storyteller and historian. Peggy also loved playing cards, especially pinocle, and going to the boat to gamble.

Peggy is survived by her son, Timothy (Laura) Cutright of Effingham; daughter-in-law, Michelle Cutright of Dieterich; grandchildren, Jennifer (Jackson) Bean, Amy (Brad) Beck, Ashley (Jason) Welk, Katlyn Dumancas, Matt (Autumn) Cutright, Kristopher (Sue) Cutright, Kayla Hall, Scott Cutright (Nyssa Strom), Nathan Roley, Brad Roley, Brooke Ixtepan, Nicole (Nick) Fizer, Skyler Roley, Stephanie (Luc) Cutright, Cassandra Cutright, and Addison Cutright; 26 great-grandchildren; former daughters-in-law, Susan Cutright, Cindy Cutright, and Kristine Collins; and sister-in-law, Margaret Horath.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ronald; and sons, Jeffrey Cutright and Michael Cutright; great-granddaughter, Taylor Charles; brother, Larry Horath; and sisters, Bessie Hatfield and Joyce Horath.
