Matthew Alan Rincker, 32 of Effingham, passed away Saturday, February 5, 2022 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 13, 2022 at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham with burial in Loy Chapel Cemetery, Effingham. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be given to the charity of the donor’s choice. Matthew was born on August 15, 1989 in Clearwater, Florida to Tamra (Robertson) Wendt.

He was a 2007 graduate of Effingham High School and participated in many Special Olympics events over the years. Matthew had a contagious smile and laughter that could brighten any room. He loved swimming, riding four wheelers, boating, and being on the go. Matthew loved his family, sweets, and his best friend, Eeyore, most of all. 

Matthew is survived by his parents, Keith and Tamra Wendt of Effingham; sister, Taylor (Tyler) Goode of Wheeler; brother, Dyllan (Kaitlyn) Rincker of Effingham; nieces, Abigail Rincker, Carter Rincker, Kiara Goode and Meela Goode; nephew, Titan Goode; grandparents, Larry and Karen Wendt of Effingham and Jim Robertson of Cowden; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Shirley Robertson.

Matthew was caring and brave. He never let his disabilities slow him down. He continued to do great things, even after death, through the Midwest Transplant Organ and Tissue Donor organization.
