Scott Griffin (73) of Altamont

D. Scott Griffin, 73, of Altamont, died at 7:26 a.m. Friday, February 4, 2022 at HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital, Effingham.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at Gieseking Funeral Home, Altamont with Joe Flowers officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until service time. Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice. CDC and IDPH guidelines with regard to COVID-19 must be followed. This includes, but is not limited to, face covering and social distancing.

Danny Scott Griffin was born on Monday, June 7, 1948 in Vandalia, IL to John Fletcher and Anna Louise (Justice) Griffin. He married Sandra Graves on November 20, 1971. He served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam and during his working career had been a concrete finisher.

Scott is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Sandra of Altamont; son, Keech (Dailene) Griffin of Altamont; daughter, Courtney (Jason Beccue) Griffin of Altamont; sister, Janna Sue (Tim) Goodrum of Hoopeston; 2 grandchildren, Kain Griffin, Kooper Beccue, Tuesday Flowers, Lacey Gill, and Tyler Flowers and several great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, John Roy Griffin.
