Boneva Sue “Bonnie” Fear, age 73, formerly of Newton, Illinois, passed away at 4:46 PM Sunday, January 30, 2022, at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center in Mattoon, Illinois.

Private family funeral services will be held. Burial will be in the Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Newton, Illinois. In loving memory of Bonnie, memorials may be made to the family. The obituary can be viewed and condolences left by clicking here.

Boneva Sue, affectionately known as “Bonnie” was born December 16, 1948, in Robinson, Illinois, the daughter of George Edward and Alene Carrie (Byrom) Fear. Bonnie graduated from Newton Community High School in 1968. She was known for her smile and was quickly loved by all who met her. Bonnie was always helpful in the workshop with activities and small jobs. She loved horses, listening to music, especially John Denver and enjoyed watching westerns and The Golden Girls on television. Bonnie loved to dance, she and her mom attended square dances for many years. She had proudly crafted jewelry that she sold. Bonnie enjoyed visiting with her family, she especially looked forward to outings that involved eating out, with pizza and pumpkin pie being her favorites. Her dark brown eyes would sparkle and she would beam when her twin Connie would introduce her, they shared a very special bond.

Bonnie is survived by: Siblings – Marcella Whalen of Newton, Illinois; Richard “Dick” (Thelma) Fear of Robinson, Illinois; Ray (Fonda) Fear of Newton, Illinois; and twin sister Connie (Robert) Keller of Newton, Illinois; Brother-in-law – Elmer Harness of Robinson, Illinois; Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Florence Britton and Beverly Harness, brothers-in-law Richard Britton and Herman Whalen and several nephews and great nephews.
