Faye A. McGee, 81, of Louisville passed away at 4:05 p.m. Saturday, January 29, 2022 at the Carle Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney.

Faye was born on February 9, 1940, in Clay County, the daughter of Leonard and Mildred (Wattles) Wolfe. She married Jerry Max McGee on April 2, 1959, in Bible Grove and they shared 61 years of marriage before he preceded her in death on May 8, 2020. Faye was a homemaker and a dedicated Christian, having loved to go to many different churches for gospel sings and events with friends. Some of her other hobbies when she wasn’t taking care of the kids were gardening, planting and tending to her flowers, and she really was an animal lover. Faye was a kind hearted woman, and it was said she would have done anything for anyone to help them out. Faye loved her sports which included the Illini Basketball team and the Chicago Cubs for baseball. As said, she was a music lover but she really enjoyed attending Charley Pride concerts, having been to many of them over the years.

Faye is survived by her 4 children; Brad McGee, of Flora, Douglas (Rhonda) McGee, of Olney, Dennis (Shaunell) McGee, of Louisville, Gayla (Larry) Seidl, of Flora, 7 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren. She is also survived by a very close friend that she considered to be her 5th child; Sherri Wood, 2 brothers; Gary (Marilyn) Wolfe, of Louisville, Phil (Chris) Wolfe, of Flora.

Faye was preceded in death by her parents, her father and mother-in-law; Allen and Nellie McGee, 3 brothers; Ray Wolfe, Joe Wolfe, Pid Wolfe, brother and sister-in-law; Jack and Greta McGee.

Funeral services honoring the life of Faye will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at the McGriff & Triplett Funeral Home in Louisville with Gene Birch and Ron Payne officiating. Burial will follow at the Old Union Cemetery, Bible Grove. Visitation will be held on Wednesday at the funeral home where friends may call from 12 noon to 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in Faye’s memory to the Folds of Honor or to the Tunnels to Towers fund and will be accepted through the funeral home.
