Benny “Ben” Jack Fair, age 84, of St. Elmo, Illinois passed away at 3:02 p.m. Monday, January 24, 2022 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.

Ben was born on April 4, 1937 in St. Elmo, Illinois, the son of Jack and Catherine Marie (Myers) Fair. He married Ruth E. Kepner on July 14, 1956 at the First Baptist Church in St. Elmo. He enjoyed hunting and trapping coons and foxes. He loved to spend time with his family, sharing laughs and making memories. Ben was a member of the St. Elmo Masonic Lodge #437.

He is survived by his son, Mikel Fair (companion Rose) of Brightwood, Oregon; daughters, Patti Booher (husband Mike) of Lake Arthur, Louisiana and Pam Johnson (husband David) of Vandalia, Illinois; seven grandchildren, Nathan Booher (wife Tisha) of Kinder, Louisiana, Nicole Booher of Lake Arthur, Louisiana, Klayton Brasel (wife Micah) of Vandalia, Illinois, Kelcie Sundburg (husband Ryan) of McLean, Illinois, Danielle Ledbetter of Charleston, Illinois, Adrian Fair and Sydney Fair both of Brightwood, Oregon; six great-grandchildren, Carly Whittington, Wyatt Hines, Sawyer Brasel, Jayden Brasel, Melody Merritt, and Ella Merritt.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Catherine Fair; and wife, Ruth Fair.
