Lena Rose Musser, 95, of Beecher City, IL passed away at 1:39 a.m. on Monday, January 10, 2022, in the Shelbyville Manor in Shelbyville, IL.

Lena was born on September 7, 1926, in Beecher City, the daughter of Sam and Osea (Horn) Sparks. She was a 1944 graduate of Beecher City High School. Lena married James Willard Musser on July 24, 1950 and were married for nearly 23 years before his passing on July 22, 1973. Together they owned and operated Musser’s Bait Shop in Beecher City which Lena continued to operate for another 30 years after Jim’s passing. She enjoyed reading, dancing, visiting with all her customers and listening to their fishing stories.

Surviving are her daughter, Barbara Hopkins of Shelbyville; granddaughter, Marnie (Mark) Webb of Effingham; sister, Carol Dean Beck of Titusville, FL; brothers: Larry (Evelyn) Sparks of Burley, WA and Sam (Marilyn) Sparks of Beecher City.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James Musser; son, Brad Musser; sister, June Tipsword; brothers: Charlie Sparks and Ralph Sparks and grandson-in-law, Rod Raber.

Private family services will be held. Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Beecher City is assisting the family.
