Glenda Marie Hartke, 79, of Effingham, IL, passed away on Thursday, December 30, 2021 at HSHS St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, IL.
Private family burial services will be held at a later date in Oak Ridge Cemetery in Effingham. Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham is assisting the family.
Glenda was born on December 11, 1942, in Hammond, IN, the daughter of Louis and Ruby (Bushue) Lidy. She married Jerome “Chesty” Hartke on September 17, 1960, and he preceded her in death on December 23, 2003.
Glenda loved her jewelry, bracelets, and purses. She also loved to wear her white sunglasses and Avon products. She was always friendly and enjoyed having a cold Coca-Cola.
Glenda is survived by her children, Greg (Donna) Hartke of Louisville, Brent (Donna) Hartke of Greenup, Gerri Lou (Rick) Yocum of Toledo, and Blair (Michelle) Hartke of Effingham; eight grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and siblings, Patricia, deceased (Larry) Pruemer of Teutopolis, Larry Lidy of Teutopolis, Janice (Charles) Heuerman of Teutopolis, and Kathy (Mike) Thoele of Teutopolis.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and sister, Patricia Pruemer.
