Rosalee E. (Beals) Waller, 83, formerly of Petersburg, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 4, 2021, in Marshall Browning Hospital in Du Quoin, after a month-long illness.

She was born August 15, 1938, the youngest of eight children, to Preston and Emma Beals of rural Effingham. She graduated from Stewardson High School and went on to earn a degree as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) from Lakeland College in Mattoon. She then married the love of her life, Thomas J. Waller, on June 8, 1963 in Stewardson. They remained in the Effingham area before moving to Springfield in 1974 then to Petersburg in 1976 where they continued to raise their three children together, Thomas B., Leslie and Stacey until his death in 1990. She worked as a LPN for over 50 years in Stewardson, Effingham, Springfield and Petersburg.   Later in life she became a caregiver for homebound patients. Besides her passion for the caring of others and family, she enjoyed growing all different kinds of flowers and working in her yard.

She is survived by her children, Thomas B., Leslie and Stacey; one sister, Frances; two brothers: Emil and Ralph; five grandchildren: Dustin, Kyleigh, Mason, Logan and Conner; one great-grandchild, Ainsley and many nieces and nephews. She will be sadly missed by her family.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 10, 2021, in Brummerstedt Funeral Home, 326 East Main Street in Stewardson with Pastor Jim Sporleder officiating. Burial will take place in Ramsey Cemetery, 1230th Street in rural Effingham. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the donor’s favorite charity. Brummerstedt Funeral Home in Stewardson is assisting the family.
