Robert Joseph Scribner, 30, of Shelbyville, Illinois, passed away at 3:57 p.m. Sunday, November 28, 2021 in HSHS Good Shepherd Hospital, Shelbyville, as a result of an automobile accident.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am Thursday, December 2 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, with Rev. Kevin Ray officiating. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, December 1 in the funeral home. Casual attire is requested. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville. Robert was born February 21, 1991, in Decatur, the son of Joseph Wayne Scribner and Julia Ann Kensil. He attended Shelbyville High School in the Class of 2010. Robert enjoyed fixing things and playing video games with his friends. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Shelbyville. 

Robert is survived by his mother, Julia Keown of Shelbyville; step-father, Randy Keown of Shelbyville; brothers, Wade Keown (Kristy), Zackary Keown and Garrett Keown, all of Shelbyville; maternal grandparents, Bob and Martha Kensil of Shelbyville; step-grandparents, Larry and Ruth Ann Keown of Lakewood; uncles, Curt Kensil of Shelbyville and Todd Keown (Julie) of Peoria, AZ; aunts, Sandra Reed of Windsor, Catherine Hale Johnson of Litchfield, and Becki Keown of Jacksonville; niece, Delaney Keown; and nephew, Wyatt Keown. 

He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Scribner; paternal grandparents, James and Sharon Scribner; uncle, James “Jimmie” Scribner; and aunt, Linda Crackel.
