Michael F. "Mike" Ballinger (59) of Trowbridge

Michael F. "Mike" Ballinger, 59, of Trowbridge, Illinois passed Sunday, November 21, 2021.

Michael was born June 8, 1962 in Effingham, Illinois, the son of Harold C. and Margaret A. "Peggy" (Schwerdt) Ballinger. He married Diana Rauch September 1, 1990 in Windsor, Illinois. He was a Union Carpenter with Local #347 in Champaign, Illinois. Mike was a Member of the St. Mary of the Assumption Church and was the Treasurer and former Grand Knight of the St. Mary’s Knights of Columbus Council 10366, both of Neoga, Illinois. He served as Big Spring Township Supervisor and on the St. Patrick Cemetery Board. Mike was a very accomplished carpenter and a general handyman well known around Trowbridge. He loved camping, playing cards, and spending time with his family and friends.

Mike is survived by his wife Diana Ballinger of Trowbridge, Illinois; children William Rahn (Kayleigh) of Pesotum, Illinois, Amber Willenborg (Drew) of New Albany, Indiana and Derrick Ballinger of Trowbridge, Illinois; parents Harold and Peggy Ballinger of Trowbridge, Illinois; grandchildren Nora and Liam Rahn of Pesotum, Illinois; brother David H. Ballinger (Anna) of Stewardson, Illinois; sisters Debbie Kaufman (Steve) of Sarasota, Florida, Cindy Ambrosch (Rick) of East Peoria, Illinois and Mary Lee (Alan) of Sarasota, Florida; parents-in-law Robert and Karen Rauch of Sullivan, Illinois; special nephew Gunnar Ballinger and several other nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, November 27, 2021 at 10:00 AM in the St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Neoga, Illinois with burial following at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Trowbridge, Illinois. Visitation will be held at the Swengel - O’Dell Funeral Home in Neoga, Illinois Friday, November 26, 2021 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a Knights of Columbus rosary at 7:30 PM.
