Terry L. Scales (51) of Hazel Dell

Terry L. Scales, 51, of Hazel Dell, Illinois passed away at 4:32 pm November 18, 2021, at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center, in Mattoon. Illinois.

A Memorial visitation will be held from 11 am-1 pm Saturday November 27, with a Memorial Service to begin at 1 pm at the Barkley Funeral Chapel, in Greenup. Terry was born September 15, 1970, in Effingham to Owen Shay and Anna May (Hays) Scales Chancellor. Terry worked for EVAPCO Midwest as a truck driver for over 15 years. He also worked at McKinney Trucking in Montrose, Ervin Equipment in Toledo, Hunter & Association and K & L Ford in Toledo. Terry was an avid demo derby car driver and builder for many years. He loved music and played the bass guitar for local bands. He was a member of the S.A.L. #566.

Terry is survived by his son Dylan (Angel) Simms, of Phoenix, AZ; daughter, Jenna Simms of Casey; brothers, Scott Scales of Greenup and Roger Scales of Greenup; grandchildren, Aubree, Chance and Acelynn Simms; his best friend, CAVEMAN and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, Henry (Eula) Hays and Herschel (Mary Etta) Scales, and one sister, Cindy Yelton.
