Virginia M. Will (92) of Lillyville

Virginia M. Will, 92, of Lillyville, passed away on Thursday, November 4, 2021 at Heartland Senior Living in Neoga, IL with her family by her side.

Virginia was born on May 28, 1929 in Lillyville, the daughter of Harry and Anne (Nosbisch) Thoele. She married Henry Will on October 1, 1949 at Sacred Heart Church in Lillyville. Virginia was a member of CCW Ladies Sodalities, CD of A Court 1711, and Home Extension. Above all else she loved spending time with her family and friends. She truly enjoyed visiting her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She really enjoyed playing cards and bingo and quilting. Her many quilts and Christmas stockings will be treasured by her family! She took great pride in traveling, especially to Italy, where she shook the hand of Pope Saint John Paul II. We were blessed and so thankful to enjoy her 90th birthday celebration.

Survivors include her children, Sharon (Ken) Hutson of Effingham, Diane Niebrugge of Teutopolis, Dale (Ann) Will of Lillyville, Marilyn (Richard) Walk of Teutopolis, Elaine Hoene (significant other, Mark Smith) of Sigel, and Denise Goeckner of Bishop Creek; 21 grandchildren; and 52 great-grandchildren.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Henry; sons-in-law, Gerald Niebrugge and Douglas Goeckner; and siblings, Kenneth Thoele, Mabel Rhines, Dolores Roselli, Anna Mae Anderson, and Melvin Thoele.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, November 8, 2021 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Lillyville. On Sunday, November 7, 2021 there will be a 3:00 p.m. CCW and CDA rosary followed with a visitation until 7:00 p.m. at the church. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Church Cemetery in Lillyville. Services are in the care of Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sacred Heart Church in Lillyville or the donor’s choice.
