Eugene Monroe Potter 94, of rural Neoga, Illinois, passed away Wednesday, October 13, 2021 in his residence.

He was born October 3, 1927 in Kinmundy, Illinois the son of Cecil and Evalina (Crutchfield) Potter. Eugene Married Violet Irene Auton March 5, 1949 in Salem, Illinois. He was a Retired Layoff Table (Pressing) at Illinois Glove Factory in Effingham, Illinois. Mr. Potter was a member of the Christ Fellowship Church in Neoga, Illinois.

Eugene leaves his wife Violet Irene Potter of Neoga, Illinois; sons, Gary Potter (Della) of Neoga, Illinois, Randy Potter (Kathy) of Neoga, Illinois, Rod Potter of Pagosa Springs, Colorado, John Potter (Kassandra) of Neoga, Illinois and Andy Potter (Angie) of Trowbridge, Illinois; daughters, Viola Fletcher of Trowbridge, Illinois, Melba Sweitzer (Randall) of Neoga, Illinois and Tina Sweitzer of Mattoon, Illinois; twenty-three grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; sisters, Veda Hawkey (Bud) of Lawton Oklahoma.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Tom Potter and Leonard Potter; sisters, Zola Slane, Viola Potter, Athia Potter and Anna Margaret Schneider; granddaughter Holly Sweitzer.

As per Mr. Potter's wishes Cremation Rites will accorded. Memorial services will be held at the Christ Fellowship Church in Neoga, Illinois on Saturday, October 23 at 6:00 p.m. Burial will be in the Elliott Cemetery near Toledo, Illinois. To express online condolences do so by clicking here
