Karen Elaine (Sutherland) Robinson, age 77, of Greenup, Illinois, passed away at 3:22 PM Thursday, October 7, 2021 at her home, surrounded by her family.

Private family services will be held.  Arrangements are under the care of the Meyer Funeral Home – Bishop Chapel in Greenup, Illinois.  In loving memory of Karen, memorials may be to the First Southern Baptist Church 404 US Route 40, Greenup, Illinois 62428, or Choices Pregnancy and Health, 260 W Locust Street Charleston, Illinois 61920.

Karen was born on April 21, 1944, in Mattoon, Illinois, the daughter of Dean and Pauline (Jones) Sutherland.  She married Willie (Bill) Robinson on August 25, 1963.  He preceded her in death after 50 years of marriage.  She graduated from Cumberland High School in 1963, and attended Dorothy Chrysler Beauty School in Effingham, Illinois. She retired from the Cumberland County Sheriff's office where she worked as a dispatcher for more than 30 years.

Karen was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church in Greenup, Illinois.

Karen is survived by her sons, Billy (Tammy) Robinson of Greenup, Illinois; Shane (Michelle) Robinson of Toledo, Illinois; Matt (Amy) Robinson of Sheridan, Indiana; and Josh (Julie) Robinson of Charleston, Illinois.  Her grandchildren, who affectionately called her Grandma K and whom she was so proud of, Preston (Hannah) of Neoga, Illinois; Austin (Stefani) of Toledo, Illinois; Dalton (Megan) of Neoga, Illinois; Miranda (Seth) of Greenup, Illinois; Michael, Isaac, Eli, and Lilly of Greenup, Illinois; Joey and D.J. of Sheridan, Indiana; Katie, Ellie, Joseph, and Jacob of Charleston, Illinois.  Karen was blessed with 9 great-grandchildren that she so lovingly got to care for in her home, Braidee, Will, Theo, Olive, Peyton, Natalie, Weston, Waylon, and Warren. Her siblings, Sharon (Bob) Beaumont of Kissimmee, Florida; Don (Pat) Sutherland of Lerna, Illinois; and Scott (Joy) Sutherland of Greenup, Illinois; and many nieces and nephews.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
