Chris Moore, 50, of St. Elmo, died at 12:44 p.m. Sunday, October 3, 2021 at Mercy Hospital, St. Louis.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, October 9, 2021 at the First Baptist Church, Brownstown with Rev. Olen Evans officiating. Burial will follow at Sidener Cemetery, St. Elmo. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service time. Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice. Gieseking Funeral Home, Altamont is assisting the family with arrangements.

CDC and IDPH guidelines with regard to COVID-19 must be followed. This includes, but is not limited to, face covering and social distancing.

James Christopher Moore was born on Wednesday, January 13, 1971 in Vandalia to James E. and Joyce (Durbin) Moore. He married Angela Merriman on June 5, 1993. He was a machinist with H & W Service Center, Effingham. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and a former Scoutmaster for Troop 444. He enjoyed dirt track racing.

In addition to his wife of over twenty-eight years, he is survived by; mother, Joyce Moore, St. Elmo; sons, Kyle (Jeanie) Barnick, Kent City, MI, Ethan Moore, St. Elmo and Derrick Moore, St. Elmo; daughter, Emily Moore, St. Elmo; brother, Ty (Keri) Moore, St. Elmo; sister, Andrea Mahaney, Mattoon; grandchildren, Izabella and Finleigh; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father.
