Roger John Doedtman (67) of Effingham

Roger John Doedtman, 67, of Effingham, Illinois, passed away Thursday, September 23, 2021 at HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham, Illinois.

He was born August 25, 1954 in Effingham County, Illinois the son of Clemmens and Catherine (Bloemer) Doedtman. Roger proudly served in the United States Army and was retired owner/operator of Doedtman’s Garage and Body Shop.

Mr. Doedtman leaves his sons, Jacob C. Doedtman (Rachel) of Teutopolis, Illinois and William Doedtman (special friend Lacey Parks) of Stewardson, Illinois; daughters, Heather Seitz (Thomas) of Mt. Zion, Illinois and Catherine “Katie” Hollinshead of Effingham, Illinois; five grandchildren; brothers, Charles “Chuck” Doedtman of Effingham, Illinois and Bernard “Ben” Doedtman (Marie) of Effingham, Illinois; and sister, Judy Carrol (Dave) of Shumway, Illinois.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Patricia Sloan and Marcia Runde.

Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association.

A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, October 1, 2021 in the Saint Mary Help of Christians Church Cemetery in Green Creek, Illinois with Rev. Fr. Sunder Ery officiating. Military Honors will be presented by the Sigel American Legion. Visitation will be held Friday, October 1, 2021 from 9:30 AM until 10:30 AM at the Swengel - O'Dell Funeral Home of Neoga, Illinois.
