Amy Marie (Zumbahlen) Tolch, age 42, of Dieterich, Illinois, passed away at 3:51 AM Thursday, September 9, 2021, at HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital in Effingham, Illinois.

Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM Monday, September 13, 2021, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Island Grove, Illinois with Fr. Frank Folino, O.F.M celebrating Mass. Burial will be in the Dieterich Village Cemetery in Dieterich, Illinois. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 PM Sunday, September 12, 2021, at the church. In loving memory of Amy, memorials may be made to the family in care of Alice Zumbahlen, 314 Fayette Street Dieterich, Illinois 62424. Arrangements are in the care of the Meyer Funeral Home in Dieterich, Illinois. Amy Marie was born on April 2, 1979, in Salem, Illinois the daughter of Robert and Alice (Kremer) Zumbahlen. Amy found her love for serving others in the first grade by joining the Girl Scouts and she was a member through eighth grade. She was a member of the class of 1998 at Dieterich High School. Amy loved people and worked for 12 years at Wal Mart as well as 4 years at JC Penney’s both in Effingham, Illinois. She then found her passion for fighting against cancer and was a volunteer for the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life of Effingham County. She started her own team Relay Rebels and just recently received the volunteer of the year award for Effingham County Relay for Life. She was known for crafting and thinking of fund-raising ideas all year long for Relay.

Amy married Donnie Tolch on November 7, 2009 at the Altamont Christian Church, gaining two daughters with this union.

Amy enjoyed helping others and brightening people’s day even if it was with the smallest gesture. With Amy around there was always laughter and smiles by all.    

Amy will be loved and remembered by her loving and caring mother Alice Zumbahlen of Dieterich, Illinois; Husband Donnie Tolch of Dieterich, Illinois; daughters Samantha Tolch of Charleston, Illinois and Tomi of Dieterich, Illinois; and an extensive list of aunts, uncles, cousins, co workers and neighbors that she held dear.

Amy was preceded in death by her father Bob Zumbalhen, grandparents, Herman and Della Kremer and Norbert and Viola Zumbahlen and father-in-law John Tolch.
