Phyllis A. Miller, 78, of rural Brownstown, died at 9:07 p.m. Friday, September 3, 2021, at her home.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 25, 2021 at Connection Church, St. Elmo with Rev. Tim Caraway officiating. Private family burial will follow at Fairlawn Cemetery, Vandalia. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the church. Memorials may be made to the family.

Phyllis was born on November 9, 1942 in Shafter, IL to Richard and Dorothy (Hampton) Alsbury. She was a retired Respiratory Therapist at St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital, Effingham.

She is survived by: her son, James (Crystal) Miller of St. Elmo; daughters, Paula Miller-Stanley of Brownstown and Crystal (Tony) Porter of St. James; brother, Michael (special friend, Jan Evans) Alsbury of Vandalia; sisters, Patty Brown of Greenville, LeNette (Dave) Belt of Portage, IN, Barbara Denton of Decatur, Juna (Larry) Jones of Vandalia, Vicki (Dave) Stewart of Effingham, Paula (Bill) McNeely of Effingham, and Karryn (George) Calfas of Peoria; 6 grandchildren, Jenna, Colten, Derek, Sierra, Blain and Alyvia.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, brother, John Alsbury, sisters, Linda Rine and Nancy Woolsey-Greer and grandson, Zachary Irvin.
