Rosemary "Rosie" Katherine Bushur, age 82, of Effingham, Illinois, passed away on Tuesday, August 10, 2021 at her home in Effingham, Illinois surrounded by her loving family.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 13, 2021 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Effingham. Burial will be in St. Anthony Cemetery in Effingham. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. followed by a 7:00 p.m. prayer service on Thursday, August 12, 2021 at Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham.

Rosie was born on August 3, 1939 in Effingham, Illinois to Anthony and Louise (Doedtman) Lohman. Rosie graduated from St. Anthony High School. She graduated from St. John’s Nursing School and was a registered nurse at St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital for many years. Rosie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Rosie was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Effingham, Illinois.

Rosie’s family and their sporting events were her first priority. She was an avid reader, loved to say the rosary, loved puzzles, and the St. Louis Cardinals. She also was a collector of Tweety birds, angels, and tea sets. She also helped Lennie search for his cookie jar collection. She was a very positive person and fought her stage 4 cancer for 3 ½ years with a smile.

Rosie married Leonard Bushur on November 12, 1960 in Effingham, Illinois. Rosie is survived by her husband, Lennie; children: Tim (Kelly) Bushur of Chesterfield, Missouri, Jackie (Larry) Schmidt of Bloomington, Sandy (Keith) Deters of Sigel, Dennis (Stephanie) Bushur of Westfield, Indiana, Amy (Tom) Baker of Noble, Susie Sullivan of Erie, Pennsylvania, Kevin (Sheri) Bushur of Effingham, and Rick (Karen) Bushur of Hoffman Estates; 26 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren with another on the way; and brother, John H. (Gerry) Lohman of Bull Flat, Illinois.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Kate (Larry) Arnold.
