Eileen Meta Quicksall (89) of Effingham

Eileen Meta Quicksall, 89, of Effingham, IL, passed away at 3:48 a.m. on Monday, August 9, 2021, in her son’s home.

Funeral services for Eileen will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 12, 2021, at Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham with Rev. Gary Fortkamp officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 11, 2021 at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Thursday. Burial will be in Stewardson Cemetery in Stewardson, IL.

Eileen Meta (Mueller) Quicksall was born on August 18, 1931, in rural Stewardson, IL, to William and Meta (Pieper) Mueller. Eileen was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Stewardson. She attended the Washington School and Trinity Lutheran School through the eighth grade and then helped her mother on the farm. Eileen married Edward William Quicksall on September 22, 1963, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Stewardson, and together they had one son, Larry Quicksall of Stewardson. Throughout her life, Eileen enjoyed sewing, gardening, flower arranging, farming, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Eileen is survived by her son, Larry (Dawn) Quicksall of Stewardson; sister-in-law, Irene Latch of Stewardson; grandchildren, Aaron Quicksall of Park City, KY, Jessica Quicksall of Urbana, Jennifer Burgholzer of Effingham, Andrew (Casey) Burgholzer of Effingham, and Stephanie Burgholzer of Mattoon; nine great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Eileen was preceded in death by her husband; both parents; and three sisters.
