Janet Elaine (Haack) Brinkopf, 66, of Effingham, IL, passed away on Thursday, July 29, 2021 at Lutheran Care Center in Altamont, IL.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Effingham with Rev. Mike Burdick officiating. Burial will be in St. John’s Lutheran Church Cemetery in Effingham, IL. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday at the church. Arrangements are in the care of Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham. Memorials may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church Food Pantry or the Lutheran Care Center. Janet was born on October 17, 1954, in Dieterich, IL, the daughter of Alvin and Dorothy (Proefrock) Haack. She married Robert Brinkopf on May 31, 1975. Janet was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Effingham where she was a member of the bell choir, Board of Social Ministry, and led a quilting group that made quilts for world relief. She loved her birds and flowers. She enjoyed quilting, baking, traveling, but most of all being with family, including her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchild.
Janet is survived by her husband of 46 years, Bob Brinkopf; children, Jeffrey (Allison) Brinkopf of St. Peter, MO, David (Elesha) Brinkopf of Neoga, IL, and Libby (Rick) Dasenbrock of Effingham, IL; grandchildren, McKenzie, Olivia, Leighton, Abigail, Emiel, Jackson, Hope and Colton; great-grandson, Jordan; and sisters, Nancy (Tom) Marrs of Conifer, CO and Linda (Mark) Kissel of Evergreen, CO; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
